Accent

Cleveland, OH

Accent occupies an egg-shaped space at the gateway of the Uptown, a mixed-use development designed by our office in Cleveland, Ohio. The texture of texts, cut out of lacquered black and back-lit with red LEDs, create the ambiance. The restaurant is organized into three zones: the bar area, the casual seating and a formal dining area. The bar doubles as a private dining room which can be closed off, or a stage for entertainment. The casual seating spills out to the alley outside of the egg. The formal dining room is a bento box where seating with red upholstery is contained in black boxes. The theme of black and red repeats and connects the three zones. The kitchen is open, gleaming stainless and white.
