Alley architecture in SOMA SF is typically blank and flat in contrast to the crenelated street walls in other parts of the city. This project exploits that tradition of blankness. The infill lot has three units per floor lit from three internal courtyard rather than a single rear yard, providing a sense of walled intimacy in the midst of the city.
